April 14th — Mother Language Day!
Today marks a very special date for the Georgian language — Mother Language Day! To celebrate this important occasion, Georgian-American School launched Georgian Language Week. Throughout the week, the lower grades took part in a variety of creative and educational activities. In the first grades, students enjoyed a fun and engaging lesson dedicated entirely to the Georgian alphabet, featuring riddles and calligraphy exercises based on all 33 letters. As part of Georgian Language Week, the 6th (3) grade students of the Georgian-American School, led by their teacher Ekaterine Kipiani, visited the Mother Language Monument . Out in the open air, the students shared fascinating facts and stories they had researched about the Georgian language and alphabet, recited poems, and once again reflected on the beauty and importance of their native language.
