Ilia: The Conscience of the Nation

To celebrate the 188th anniversary of Ilia Chavchavadze, Georgian-American School held Ilia Week.

As part of the project, fifth-grade students visited the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, named after Ilia Chavchavadze — a place where his legacy endures, the eloquence of the Georgian language resonates, and the strength of national spirit thrives.

The celebration continued at GAS Library, where Ilia’s words echoed throughout. Students recited his poems, recounted pivotal events from his life, and discussed the lasting influence he has on future generations.

Georgian-American School proudly upholds the tradition of respecting national values and spreading knowledge that nurtures cultural identity and pride.

The project was led by Eka Kipiani and Tamar Chelidze.
