Fourth Graders Visit the National Library of Georgia .
As part of the project “I Am a Reader”, fourth-grade students, together with their school librarian and teachers, visited the National Library of Georgia.
The students explored the “Deda Ena Hall” and viewed Iakob Gogebashvili’s personal bookshelf and library. Among the displayed works, the first editions of “Deda Ena” were especially remarkable — including a copy annotated by the author himself.
They also visited the Book Museum, which preserves the “Old Printed Georgian Books” collection featuring the first Georgian publications printed by King Vakhtang VI.
In addition, the students admired the special “Knight in the Panther’s Skin” collection, showcasing editions of the famous poem in 50 different languages.
To conclude their visit, the students learned about the history of Georgian periodicals — from the country’s very first newspaper to modern-day publications.
