Meet the Great Minds: Discovering Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani

As part of the ongoing project "Meet the Great Minds," led by Georgian-American School librarian Tamar Chelidze, students gathered for an inspiring and educational session dedicated to the life and legacy of the renowned 18th-century thinker and fabulist Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani.

During the event, fifth-grade students:

  • explored Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani's biography through an engaging presentation;

  • read selections from his timeless fables and parables;

  • listened to Mukhran Machavariani's poem "Saba";

  • viewed documentary footage about his life and work.

Class teacher Lika Davitashvili joined students for this enriching experience.

The session concluded with a lively discussion where students shared their reflections and insights, explored the moral lessons woven throughout the fables, and considered how they might respond if faced with the same dilemmas as the characters.

The "Meet the Great Minds" project continues its mission to nurture students' intellectual and spiritual growth—one great person, one book at a time.
