This February, the Georgian-American School's long-term educational project "Meet Great People" - led by school librarian T. Chelidze - turned the spotlight on Maro Makashvili, the first Georgian woman to receive the title of National Hero.
The project unfolded in two steps. Fifth-grade students first visited the library, where they explored the remarkable story of her life. They then took the learning further with a visit to the Museum of Soviet Occupation, where history came alive in a whole new way.
Projects like this go beyond the classroom - blending knowledge with values and helping students grow into thoughtful, civically aware individuals.
