The bronze medal is ours!
IJSO – International Olympiad of Young Scientists was held this year in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
This is one of the most difficult Olympiads in the world, it is held in 3 natural science subjects: physics, chemistry and biology. The Olympics lasts for 10 days and is held in three rounds. Students compete with each other in test, theoretical and experimental tasks. Team leaders participate in the selection of Olympiad tasks and their translation, although all participants must be fluent in English. 54 countries participated in the Olympics this year. The brilliant performance of our team is all the more gratifying - we Georgians won a bronze medal! The Georgian team was composed entirely of X and XI graders of Georgian-American and Georgian-American high schools (the age of the participants should not exceed 16 years).

December 3-4 turned out to be the most interesting and remarkable days for our students and team leaders; Participants from 54 countries visited the island of Rattanakosin, the island where the famous sights are located: what was seen exceeded all expectations, this country was indeed exceptionally exotic and interesting for visitors;
𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 - Great Palace, a dazzling and cult symbol of the Royal Royal Family and Cultural Heritage, a masterpiece of Thai architecture; One of the most revered buildings on the grounds of the palace is Wat Phra Kaew, which houses the Emerald Buddha, a sacred and highly revered image for them.
The Grand Palace is a majestic symbol of Thailand's rich history and cultural heritage, showcasing the country's architectural talent and artistic traditions.
𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐮𝐦 - The world's largest outdoor museum, covering a vast area and containing replicas of important cultural and historical sites from all over Thailand.
The park represents the geographical shape of Thailand. Artificial lakes and rivers located in the green space make it unique and stunning for everyone. There is also the famous Emerald Buddha Temple;
𝐖𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐨 - one of the oldest and largest temples in the city - known for its impressive architecture, historical significance and reclining Buddha.
The temple is most famous for its huge gilded Buddha statue, which is 46 meters long and 15 meters high. The statue represents Buddha's entry into Nirvana and is highly revered by Buddhists and tourists alike. In addition to its religious and historical significance, 𝐖𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐨 has a botanical garden with a variety of plants unique and used in traditional Thai medicine.
𝐖𝐚𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐨 is known not only as a religious place but also as a center of cultural and educational importance.
The excursion was part of the event of the International Youth Science Olympiad 𝐈𝐉𝐒𝐎 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑, which lasted from December 1-11 in Thailand 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑.
The next Olympics will be held in Romania, from which our team has already received an invitation.
