📍 Georgian-American and Georgian-American High School Students Participate in the Harvard Model Congress in Brussels, Belgium!
🌍 The Harvard Model Congress Europe (HMCE), established in 1988, is the world’s largest civic engagement conference for high school students.
🔹 Organized by Harvard University students and alumni, HMCE has, over the past 38 years, become Europe’s premier government simulation conference, bringing together over 400 students from around the world annually.
🔹 This conference provides students with a unique opportunity to engage in debates on pressing global issues and immerse themselves in political simulations, gaining firsthand experience in global policymaking.
💡 Harvard Model Congress Europe includes simulations of U.S. congressional committees and international organizations, allowing students to develop a deeper understanding of governmental and diplomatic affairs.
📌 Our students proudly represent the following committees and organizations:
✔ NATO
✔ Senate HELP Committee
✔ House Science, Space, and Technology (SST) Committee
✔ Media
✔ G20
✔ World Health Organization (WHO)
✔ Historical Committee
✔ World Bank
✔ European Council
✔ United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)
✔ House Homeland Security Committee
📆 The conference will take place from March 14 to 17, during which students will also visit the European Parliament and explore Brussels' cultural landmarks.
🎓 This initiative is yet another significant step in promoting non-formal education, helping students refine their public speaking, communication, and critical thinking skills.
At GAS and GAHS, we are committed to fostering global engagement and empowering students to become informed, articulate, and active members of society.
