The Georgian-American School was honored to welcome chess grandmaster Bela Khotenashvili — a member of the Georgian national team, Under-16 World Champion, European Team Championship winner, multiple international tournament champion, and bronze medalist at the Chess Olympiad.
During her visit, Bela answered students' questions, shared inspiring stories from her career, and conducted a simultaneous chess exhibition with eager participants.
The visit was particularly meaningful for 3rd-grade students, who had actively participated in this semester's chess problem-solving contest. The competition was held in two stages: the first round determined the top student in each class, while the final round identified the overall winners among 3rd graders:
1st place – Alexandre Tskhakaya, Grade 3(1)
2nd place – Badri Kervalishvili, Grade 3(2)
3rd place – Sandro Kardava, Grade 3(1)
Elizabeth Berozashvili from Grade 3(3) also received recognition for her outstanding participation.
At the Georgian-American School, we believe that encounters with accomplished professionals inspire students to set ambitious goals, build confidence in their abilities, and take meaningful steps toward their own success.
