On February 17, the Georgian-American School welcomed a very special guest - beloved children's book author Tamar Phkhakadze.

The visit was full of excitement. Tamar shared some thrilling news with our third-grade students: a brand-new adventure featuring everyone's favorite character, Marcia, is on the way. The children jumped right in - pitching their own ideas for the story, reading out spells they had invented, asking questions, and presenting the author with a portrait they had drawn just for her.

The meeting wrapped up the way it always does - with autographs and photos to remember the day by.

The Georgian-American School regularly hosts children's writers and poets, and visits like this one remind us just how much a good book - and the person behind it - can inspire young readers.
