A Journey into the World of Myths

A Journey into the World of Myths – An Integrated Projects in 4th Grades

The 4th-grade students of the Georgian-American School completed an integrated project across Art, Georgian Language and Literature, and Music. The project focused on ancient Greek myths, including the myth of the Argonauts and the events of the Trojan War.

Throughout the month, students created a wide range of creative works, which they proudly presented to their parents.

🎨 In Art classes, they crafted visual representations such as models of the Trojan Gate, Argonauts’ ships, Greek clay pottery, and the Trojan Horse. Students used various techniques and materials to bring their ideas to life.

📚 In Georgian Language and Literature, students explored the genre features of myths using specific texts, analysed and sequenced mythological events on a timeline, watched films and animations, compared myth and reality, and finally created imaginative stories from the perspectives of mythological characters.

🎵 In Music, students learned about ancient Greek instruments and created their own models of the lyre.

The project was led by:

  • Art – Ani Naskidashvili

  • Georgian Language and Literature – Mariam Ghubeladze, Tekla Modebadze, Irma Maskhulia

  • Music – Nino Gorkhelashvili

The final presentation highlighted the students’ theoretical understanding, strategic thinking, and hands-on experience acquired through experiential learning.

This was a magical journey into the world of myths – colourful, engaging, and full of creativity!
